About Us
T.G.C. was founded by Donald and Eileen Hansen in 1975 in Santa Cruz California. They still maintain ownership along with their two sons, Derek and Steven. The most combined experience in the company (108 years) is considered to be one of the foremost in the world for this industry. The company was started, like many large corporations, in the owner's garage and grew into the corporate offices where it resides in today. Although the company is considered quite large by industry standards, it still maintains a family business atmosphere and attitude. In fact, the longest standing employee has been with the company for 30 years. T.G.C.'s Core Purpose Statement hangs on the wall of every office: "To enhance life experiences by operating with the highest standards of quality and integrity, while also applying successful teamwork to create opportunities for growth and more enjoyable relationships."
Because T.G.C. is one of the oldest businesses of its kind, it has had the opportunity to be the innovators of a lot of the installation techniques that are now the industry standard. We have also been the sounding board for manufacturing standards and product development. T.G.C. uses only the world's finest products and has always been known for extremely high workmanship quality. Because of manufacturers' dealership programs, only T.G.C. is allowed to carry the very best of these products in your area.
T.G.C. specializes in commercial and residential window coatings, but also does automotive window tinting and blinds. Some of our customers and contracts are the Monterey Bay Aquarium, Seagate Technologies, Veritas, the counties of Monterey, Salinas and Santa Cruz. The United States of America Department of Defense and the Naval Postgraduate School have also contracted the services of T.G.C. Our work can be seen at every major golf course's pro shop and facility from Pebble Beach to Pasatiempo. At least one of the T.G.C. installation crews can be found in someone's home anywhere from San Francisco all the way to beautiful Big Sur every day of the work week.
T.G.C. is a member of the Independent Window Film Association (IWFA), the Building Owner and Managers Association (BOMA), and an American Society of Interior Designers (ASID) industry partner.
