Automotive window tint is very common. Almost everyone has either seen or had a car with window tint on it. Most of these window films we see are just dyed material that simply darkens the glass. Although this type of material looks good, it doesn't significantly reduce heat or glare. T.G.C. still applies this type of material, but we really would like you to know about a new breed of automotive window coatings available.

The new breed of coating is taking the industry by storm. These new hi-tech coatings still have that great look but also perform in some other ways as well. There are two categories of these high-tech coatings. First is a coating infused with unique metals like silver and titanium. This is done to create great heat rejection to keep you cool and to protect the interior of the car. This new material can also be totally clear if you don't want to change the look of your car but still have a good heat rejection. The second high-tech coating uses N.A.S.A. technology. They took the idea from the tiles on the nose of the space shuttle, the tiles that withstand thousands of degrees Fahrenheit upon reentry to the atmosphere of earth. The compound that is used is ceramic, and window coatings available from almost clear to a nice dark shade. All of these stop 99%-99.9% of U.V. rays and up to 65% of heat. These new materials are dye-free and get their color from the actual compounds from which they are made. This means they will never fade or turn purple.
